People are my passion. Everyone is different, making every assignment unique, so it never gets boring. For me, the Palmetto Portraits project was a great opportunity to find interesting, everyday people to photograph. A perfect fit for my style.
about the BMW series
The BMW Manufacturing Co., near Greer in upstate South Carolina, is a full automotive manufacturing plant with body, paint and assembly production areas. There are about 5,000 jobs at the factory, which opened in 1994. A network of 187 suppliers in North America, including 49 in South Carolina, provides automotive parts to the factory. BMW Manufacturing is the only automobile manufacturer in the state and exclusively produces the X5 Sports Activity Vehicle and the X6 Sports Activity Coupe for worldwide distribution to more than 120 markets.

Jeff Amberg began his professional career in 1980, working for the Hilton Head Island Packet newspaper, and continued as a photographer with The State newspaper in Columbia from 1981 to 1989. He has been self-employed since 1990, when he started his own commercial photography business.
